The movie HOME, directed by French photographer Yann Arthus-Bertrand and produced by Luc Besson, brings wonder and concern about the environmental and social state of the world, delivering its message through beautiful aerial images of the Earth.

In Turkey, AFD, together with its partner TEB, organized the broadcasting of the film on the 5th of June in Istanbul. Turkey was therefore among the hundred or so countries to simultaneously show the movie on the World Environment Day.

The event, jointly held by TEB and AFD, gathered more than 200 guests during a private show in Fethiye’s movie theater. Representatives of Turkish authorities, members of the French protocol and international funding institutions, journalists, businessmen and entrepreneurs, members of both local and international NGOs as well as scholars were among the people invited.

Laurent Klein, Deputy Director of AFD’s Representation Office in Istanbul, introduced Yann Arthus-Bertrand’s work by presenting the major issues raised by HOME and by insisting on AFD’s strong commitment towards sustainable development.
