Located in the Middle Atlas, the cedar forest of Ifrane is the largest cedar forests in the Mediterranean Basin. Economic heart for the rural population and largest water tower in the country, this forest is now threatened by overgrazing and illegal logging .

To protect the cedar , AFD is financing a program of collaborative management of forests with the help of local populations .
