L’Assemblée générale des Nations unies a déclaré l’année 2012 « Année internationale de l’énergie durable pour tous ». La question de l’énergie affecte tout particulièrement l’activité économique, l’environnement et la santé. Une énergie propre est indispensable pour le développement et la sauvegarde de l’environnement. Selon les Nations unies, environ 1,5 milliard de personnes n’ont pas accès à une source d’énergie moderne et 3 milliards utilisent les combustibles traditionnels. Une campagne de sensibilisation est organisée durant l’année pour permettre l’accès aux énergies renouvelables. Pour l’essentiel, il s’agit de réduire l’émission de carbone par le recours à des technologies nouvelles et l’utilisation rationnelle des sources d’énergie existantes. Ce dispositif aiderait à lever un « obstacle majeur à la réalisation des objectifs du Millénaire pour le développement ».

  • The collection

    Following a readers' panel study on the readership of Pressedoc (the AFD's former weekly press review), the Research and Knowledge department decided to create a new monthly publication, Kaléidoscope. It has been designed to cast helpful light on the scientific and technical content of the main international publications dealing with aspects of economic development and the fight against poverty. The editorial highlights the month's key events, with further sections on Water, Earth, People, Organisations, Geographical regions, Law and Regulation. Under each theme, a brief summary of contents is given for books, web reports and articles of the relevant period. Below, you will find the contents of our latest issue
