€ 30 million SME credit line to NBE

The board of AFD approved on December 16th 2009 a concessional loan of € 30 million to National Bank of Egypt (NBE), the most important public bank of Egypt. This loan will be used to finance the development of SMEs in Egypt (mesofinance). This project will contribute to the first objective of the Country Strategy of AFD in Egypt for the period 2009-2011. The first objective of the Strategy is to promote the development of a modern, competitive private sector, by supporting private initiative and SMEs. Renforcement des capacites exportatrices des PME/PMI algériennes

La France a souhaité faire bénéficier l’Algérie de son programme d’aide au renforcement des capacités commerciales des pays du Sud, programme créé en février 2002 suite à la conférence ministérielle de l’OMC à Doha et dont l’objet est de financer des projets de coopération technique et de formation dans les pays considérés comme prioritaires par la France. Technical Assistance to the Farmers of West Delta

1,5 M € Grant. This project is complementary to the West Delta Conservation and Irrigation Rehabilitation Project. It brings a technical assistance to the small farmers of the West Delta irrigation perimeter, so that they can take part in the new irrigation scheme. The project is financed by a grant to the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation, within the framework of the Commercial Capacity Building Programme (PRCC) managed jointly by the AFD and the French Ministry of Finance. >> More about this project
