Ewa FILIPIAK

Career

  • Ewa Filipiak has a degree in political science. She worked in the Research Department from January 2003 to December 2007, on issues relating to vocational training and the labour market in Africa. Topics studied include the financing of vocational training, vocational training in the informal sector, post-primary vocational training, integrating young people into the labour market, and gender disparities on the labour market.
    Since May 2005, she has been the leader of the GEFOP (Experts Group on Vocational Training) network, which counts some 30 members from Europe, Africa and Asia as well as the major international institutions.
    Previously, she worked on emergence processes (business upgrading in developing countries, trade and development), governance issues (global public goods and ODA, national cultures and enterprise management in developing countries) and energy and climate issues (fighting the greenhouse effect, energy efficiency in China).
    She left the Research Department in December 2007 and now works in AFD’s Education and Training Department as a project leader.

    Gender disparities on the labour market in Africa, a joint research programme with the World Bank. A composite volume scheduled for publication in 2008; seminars to disseminate the results and training modules scheduled for 2008-2009.
