Fast-Track Initiative

The Fast-Track Initiative was launched in 2002 by 22 bilateral and multilateral donors to support education in low income countries. The secretariat for the initiative is managed by the World Bank with a rotating co-chair made up of a G8 member and a non-G8 member donor. The Fast-Track Initiative aims to accelerate the achievement of Universal Primary Education in which AFD participates. This partnership both encourages donors to increase their aid and developing countries to build a coherent sector policy.
