AFRICA - Mauritania: Insurance to reduce pregnancy and childbirth-related risks
Risks relating to pregnancy and childbirth can be shared thanks to the obstetrical package which was set up in 2002. Five years on, assisted childbirths in Nouakchott have risen by 48% as a result of this package. AFD is supporting the extension of the system all over Mauritania. <Find out more>

ENVIRONMENT: Developing and protecting the Ifrane cedar forests in Morocco
Morocco’s Ifrane province is home to the most beautiful cedar forests in the Mediterranean Basin. They are however now under threat of overexploitation.
