CEFEB

The Center for Financial, Economic and Banking Studies (CEFEB), founded in 1963, is an AFD Group operational department specialized in external training and pedagogical engineering.

CEFEB is based in Marseilles and its mission is to enhance the professional skills of senior executives who hold, or will hold, managerial positions in public or private sector enterprises, administrations and development programs. It provides diploma-granting training sessions, specialized seminars and knowledge capitalization. The annual cycle (Turgot cycle), organized with the IAE (Enterprise Administration Institute) in Paris is a third cycle diploma-granting training session (DESS (postgraduate degree taken after Master’s) Paris 1 – Panthéon Sorbonne) and lasts three months. It has three specializations:

  • Enterprise management,
  • Banking and finance,
  • Public decision-making (project design, monitoring and evaluation).

CEFEB has since inception trained around sixty Djiboutian executives mainly from the public sector, but also from autonomous and parapublic departments. They now hold managerial positions in Administrations and parapublic and private enterprises, banks and financial institutions in Djibouti.

In parallel to the annual training session a number of Djiboutian trainees have attended various specialized seminars organized by CEFEB (development project management, financial management, management control, human resources, microfinance…) in both Marseilles and sub-region countries.
In 2007 four executives from the public sector or private enterprises attended these training sessions.
