AFD projects in Ghana
AFD recent activities are focused on infrastructure development in rural and urban areas and on support to the agriculturural sector through the following projects
Community Based Rural Development Project (CBRDP)
Financing of social and productive infrastructure, as well as natural resources management, for the 166 Districts and a selected number of Area Councils, within the framework of the decentralization process, € 10 million.
Community Forest Biodiversity Project
Sustainable management of forest areas around two national parks (Ankasa and Bia) in the Western region, (from the “Fonds Français pour l’Environnement Mondial” - FFEM), € 1,2 million.
Perennial Crops Development Project
Expanding outgrower plantations of rubber and oil palm within the framework of a strong private-public partnership with TOPP and GREL, and strengthening of farmers’ associations, € 19.4 million.
Rehabilitation of feeder roads and construction of rural bridges in the north
(road sector development program), € 10.9 million.
