Practitioners’ Network

Practitioners' Network for European Development Cooperation

The Practitioners' Network is an informal and open platform gathering European donors that are directly involved in the implementation of development aid in the field.
Its aim is to promote enhanced mutual knowledge and foster exchanges on experience, techniques and practices. Its members are: AFD, KfW, BTC, CzDA, ADA, AECID, DFID, Europaid, GTZ, InWent, SNV, SlovakAid.
The Practitioners' Network was created in February 2007 on the initiative of French cooperation and KfW. Today, it relies on the following entities and resources:

  • A permanent secretariat in Brussels: info@dev-practitioners.eu;
  • A Core Group, in charge of overall coordination and decision-making;
  • Thematic groups, which gather a few volunteer institutions over a certain period of time to address topics of common interest;
  • A list of members and contacts allowing all Network members to gather experts for ad hoc workshops or on specific topics;
  • An annual meeting of all European practitioners;
  • A website: www.dev-practitioners.eu

    One of the work areas of this network is devoted to the implementation of the European Code of Conduct on the Division of Labour and is led by AFD. Further information on this working group is available on the Network’s website.
