CEFEB: AFD Group’s Corporate University Working for its Clients and Partners

CEFEB (Center for Financial, Economic and Banking Studies) is based in Marseille and organizes capacity building activities, training cycles and seminars which lie between research-action and operational techniques/practices tried and tested by AFD in the field. The Center consequently provides a platform for meetings between clients, partners and co-financiers from developing and developed countries and AFD’s staff. The training topics are closely linked to the research and operations implemented by AFD. They focus on public economics, local authorities (in the French Overseas Communities and foreign countries), public-private partnerships and companies, sustainable development and SER, banking and finance, training engineering and human resources.
 
CEFEB offers a training course leading to a qualification: the Master’s “Public and Private Management Capacities”, jointly awarded with the University of Auvergne’s Center for Studies and Research on International Development. It also designs and leads over sixty short and medium-term seminars and workshops every year in France, Europe and in AFD’s partner countries. In 2010, AFD’s Corporate University trained some 2,000 people from 50 countries and 4 French Overseas Communities.
