Partners- NGO and civil society

The aim of this type of partnership is to finance innovative projects in areas defined through consultation between AFD and NGOs.

In 2007, AFD set up the first financing instrument dedicated to French, local and international NGOs: the Sectoral Innovation Facility for NGOs (FISONG). One of the three FISONGs prepared for 2010 will concern the sector of “Renewable energy and reduced CO2 emissions from avoided deforestation and degradation”

C2Ds | Debt Reduction-Development Contracts

C2Ds refinance existing ODA debt through direct grants to the debtor country.

AFD’s subsidiary, Proparco, has a specialized team working to invest capital in businesses.
