Phishing

Phishing warning

Mails from a certain Philip Guilavogui who introduces himself as a Supervisor at BCECO (Central Coordination Office of the French Cooperation in Ghana) are currently circulating in French-speaking African consultancy firms. This person has prepared a bid document for the audit of AFD projects in Ghana and is asking for money for participation in the bidding process (100 000 CFA francs or about € 150) and a higher amount if the firm is awarded the contract.

This is a fraud and identity theft. AFD did not call for tenders for the audit of its projects in Ghana and the Embassy of France in Ghana does not have a BCECO unit.

Therefore, you should not, in any way, respond to these messages, let alone pay money.
