Group Operations in Kenya

Group Operations in Kenya

AFD’s operations in Kenya lie within the framework of the Partnership Framework Document (DCP) signed in 2006 between the Governments of Kenya and France and elaborated in accordance with the Poverty Eradication Strategy of the Kenyan Government, ‘’Vision 2030’’.

The priority sectors of France’s intervention in Kenya are:

(i) improvement of infrastructures, in particular in the energy and transport sector;

(ii) water and sanitation

(iii) The environment and protected areas. Support to economic growth through support to the private sector has also been identified as a major cross-cutting priority by the DCP.

AFD Operations Framework

AFD’s activities are guided by a ‘‘Strategic Intervention Framework’’ drawn up specifically for Kenya, which responds both to France’s strategic priorities and the defined priorities of the Kenyan Government.
