Video: The Renewal of Faidherbe Bridge

In Saint-Louis, Senegal, everyone knows the Faidherbe Bridge. The bridge is absolutely essential to the city’s daily and administrative life. It is also vital to the economy of the city and region.

Faidherbe Bridge is an indispensable and precious communication link. It is also a masterpiece of metal architecture recognized as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

The bridge had aged badly since it was built in 1897. AFD has financed its reconstruction and has made a film about this highly symbolic project.
