Drinking water in Port-au-Prince neighbourhoods

The documentary Water Money describes the installation of drinking water networks in Mali’s municipalities and shows all the debates that arise when a fee-paying basic service is set up and managed in a developing country.

The first DVD, Le film, is a 52 min documentary which shows how networks are set up and managed by filming management, audit and negotiation meetings between project managers and local stakeholders.

The second DVD, Les lectures, has fourteen interactive modules which can each be watched separately. Each part includes an extract from a documentary which is then analysed and commented on by French and Malian experts, researchers and economic and political stakeholders.

The whole documentary program provides an analysis of the practical logic and uncertainties which underlie this type of development project.
