Nicole MADARIAGA

Career

  • Nicole Madariaga holds a Ph.D in Economic Science from the University of Paris I. Her thesis work focused on the analysis of trade integration, the localisation of industrial activities and regional economic convergence in Latin America. She also lectured at the University of Paris I, at the Paris Graduate School of Economics, Statistics and Finance (ENSAE) and in an engineering school (international trade, development economics, spatial economics). Prior to joining AFD, she held a position as an economist at the French Treasury and Economic Policy Directorate, where she was in charge of analysing trade and business activities at the international level. She joined Agence Française de Développement’s Macroeconomic Analysis and Country Risk Unit at the beginning of 2010 to contribute to the analysis of growth trajectories and economic and financial vulnerabilities in the countries where AFD operates.
