Building against the Tides

The video “Building against the Tides” looks back at a decade of operations to rehabilitate the Prey Nup polders in Cambodia. The film is in French and lasts approximately 58 minutes.

It was made as part of an evaluation/capitalisation process for the operation which Agence française de développement (AFD) financed between 1998 and 2008. It was decided to use video to show how the project developed and its results so that the evaluation could reach a wider public.

Regional Conference on Smallholder Rubber Plantations in Phnom Penh

A conference on lessons learnt from smallholder rubber plantations programs was jointly organized by the Cambodian Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries’ General Directorate of Rubber Plantation, the AFD’s Phnom Penh Agency, and the AFD’s Research Department in Paris.

This conference brought together more than 80 participants from Thailand, Vietnam, Laos, Singapore, Cambodia and France. A panel of experts from all the countries represented gave presentations on the principal challenges in the village rubber plantation sector.
