Resilience and reconstruction in the Middle East : AFD launches the SAWA Initiative

Syria, Iraq and, more generally, the neighboring countries are the stage of a crisis fostered by multiple factors, exacerbated by the territorial and political ambitions of the terrorist Islamic State organization. The SAWA Initiative aims to help Syria and the region (Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Jordan and Turkey) increase their economic and social resilience and accelerate reconstruction.
