AFD, the platform for the implementation of France’s development policy, is launching the preparation of its new strategy. The aim is to enhance the effectiveness of its action for the populations it works for in the South and in the French overseas territories. This approach is partly based on our online consultation open to all.

The President Macron has set a new course for the French Official Development Assistance: 0.55% of national income by 2022, bilateral aid a priority, and a change in method. This is what AFD started a year ago. It is more partnership-based, more effective too.

In this context, AFD is launching an open digital consultation to allow all its stakeholders to come and to vote on, comment on, and add to proposed evolutions that will guide its action between 2018 and 2022. Until 16 March, we invite you to participate in this extensive project by visiting our online platform:

The issue of common goods, education, health, gender equality, “All Africa”, the Three Ds (Defense, Diplomacy and Development), these are all topics we would like to have your opinion on.

Whether you live in Paris, Phnom Penh, Abidjan, Medellin, or elsewhere in the world, whether you work in the public or private sector, whether you are a development expert or not, whether you represent a civil society organization or are just a citizen of the world, we hope that you – all of you! – will take part in this consultation!
