
Christophe DIAS
Overview
Christophe Dias is in charge of sport and development, and his mission is to bring together the worlds of sport and finance in support of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Graduate of EDHEC Business School, Christophe Dias specialized in sustainable development issues at the University of Sao Paulo in Brazil. With many international experiences in finance, strategy consulting, entrepreneurship and sports, Christophe Dias has been in charge of sport and development in AFD's Social Cohesion division since 2019. In 2021, he was selected to join AFD's Graduate Program and undertook several long-term assignments abroad, notably in French Polynesia and Senegal.
As Sports and Development Officer, Christophe Dias helped set up partnerships with FIFA, the NBA and Paris 2024 to make sport a force of development, and supervised several sports projects in Africa. He is mobilized to operationalize presidential initiatives, such as the Sport in common platform and the organization of the New Africa-France Summit in Montpellier. He is also involved in writing the book Économie du sport en Afrique (Éditions Economica, 2022) and in discussions concerning the creation of a sports impact investment fund. As an sportsman, he has been involved in a number of sports associations and at the highest level.
