
Reda Souirgi
Overview
Reda SOUIRGI is head of the Mobility and Digital Division of the French Development Agency (AFD), in charge of the agency's financing and programs in the fields of sustainable urban mobility, rural transport, national and international connectivity infrastructures, sustainable transport policies, internet connectivity infrastructures and digital services. The division has a staff of around 30, active worldwide.
Reda joined AFD in 2015 as Project Manager in the transport sector, and structured, evaluated and supervised financing in this sector in various countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America. He then served as Deputy Head of the Transport and Mobility Division at AFD headquarters, and as AFD Country Director in Sri Lanka, where he oversaw a portfolio of projects worth around €1 billion in the fields of water, energy, transport, irrigation and agriculture, while supporting civil society organizations.
Prior to joining AFD, Reda spent ten years in consulting and engineering, notably with SYSTRA, a world leader in transport engineering. He held a variety of positions there, including research director, engineering team manager and business development manager. Reda is a graduate of the École Polytechnique and the École Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées, and holds a diploma from the Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées.
