In the context of COP21 and the Paris Agreement, countries have made voluntary commitments to fight against climate change and adapt to its impacts. The challenge now lies in making the Paris Agreement operational by implementing these commitments – called Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs).
AFD has set up Adapt’Action, a tool which assists countries in the implementation of these commitments for a more resilient development. Through technical assistance and capacity building, Adapt’Action acts as a driver for facilitating access to international climate finance for countries and speeding up adaptation investments. Adapt’Action also aims to better take into account gender-related climate vulnerabilities and support nature-based solutions.
