
In 2019, international migrants represented 272 million people or 3.5% of the world’s population.
There are many types and factors of mobility (economic, social, cultural, political), which makes it a complex phenomenon that can be a source of vulnerability as well as an opportunity for development. AFD supports partner countries’ migration policies to make migration a factor contributing to development and help combat vulnerabilities linked to forced migration.
