Its economy is also the strongest. Just twice as large as France in size, its people are also very diverse: more than 250 distinct ethnic groups call it home. The northern part of the country is primarily Muslim, while the southern part is primarily Christian. Along with such a heterogeneous mix of ethnicities, and a tenuous balance of power, is a wealth of energy resources that are unequally distributed in favour of a few in the south west of the country.
