AGREENFI, an Agricultural and Rural Finance Label

Agricultural and rural development are essential for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It also has a leverage effect for reducing social, economic, and climate vulnerabilities, and for preserving balances between different territories. To engage in this development and thereby contribute to the dynamism of local and national economies, the sector’s stakeholders need access to appropriate financial services.

To meet these needs, AFD Group has developed a solution adapted to the financial institutions that work alongside those stakeholders: AGREENFI, a tool that provides financial services dedicated to economic actors in rural areas and supports efforts to make agriculture more sustainable and resilient.

AGREENFI is intended for financial institutions operating in Africa, Asia, Latin America or Central and Eastern Europe that are developing their financing activities for the rural sector. It offers financial support accompanied by institutional and technical support.
