Transport and Mobility - 2022 Activity Report

Biggest emitter of greenhouse gases in the world, the transport sector was one of the hardest hit by the impact of the Covid-19 crisis. Yet 2022 saw a marked recovery in flows of passengers and goods. With urbanization expanding and demand for mobility on the rise, decarbonization of the transport sector is now, more than ever, a major challenge.

To address the many challenges of the transport sector, AFD Group provides financing to develop low-carbon modes of transport, support the integrated planning of mobility systems, and reduce motorized travel..

In 2022, AFD Group committed 1.8 billion euros for the transport sector. Urban mobility is a strong marker for AFD Group's activity in the sector. Thanks to the projects financed in 2022, 8.8 million people will benefit from improved access to sustainable transport.
