Lithium, cobalt, nickel… Critical minerals have become the backbone of the energy transition. Yet their rapid development is accompanied by significant uncertainties: geopolitical tensions, market volatility, and strategic dependencies.

An international conference to move into action
Organized by the AFD Group, this high-level event will bring together public decision-makers, financial institutions, companies, and researchers from Europe and beyond.
Objective: to turn research into concrete solutions, in support of a just and cooperative transition.
- Analyse uncertainties and risks in critical mineral markets (technology, geopolitics, supply–demand imbalances)
- Examine financing strategies and the role of public development banks, financial institutions, and Ministries of Finance
- Assess French and European strategies in light of industrial and energy policies and the geopolitical context
- Identify operational avenues for cooperation with producing countries (fiscal policies, industrial development, responsible investment)
- Foster the development of shared economic scenarios to improve the coherence of public policies
