The ongoing Indo-French dialogue highlights a shared vision for a strengthened multilateral partnership for sustainable development in the Indo-Pacific region. In this context, AFD and the Exim Bank of India are organising the Sustainable Financing in the Indopacific (SUFIP) conference, on the eve of the Indo-Pacific Ministerial Forum in February 2022.
This inclusive and open event will bring together key actors from the field of sustainable development financing in the Indopacific region in order to chart out mechanisms for understanding and co-operation on sustainable modernization in the region. It aims to deepen the question of the convergence between public financial institutions & development banks in favor of better intervention efficiency, and sustainable financing for projects in line with the Paris Agreement on climate change.
The event aims to:
- bring together the major development finance institutions of the Indo-Pacific region and Europe to discuss the implementation of the SDGs and the Paris Agreement in the Indo-Pacific region. The event is a response to the increasing need for financing in the region in favor of quality investments, based on strengthened environmental and social standards and good governance principles, as promoted by the G20, ASEAN and the Global Gateway
- strengthen the commitment of these development finance institutions through concerted actions in priority areas (energy and climate transition, infrastructure and digital connectivity, health, blue economy, biodiversity), in line with European strategies and related initiatives, through an exchange of the experiences and knowledge.
