Communication of AFD-supported projects

Does your project receive funding from the Agence française de développement ?
Recipients of AFD funding are required to ensure the visibility of support from France and AFD when communicating. This project-dedicated communication is handled by our partners. Its objective is to develop the recognition and visibility of your actions by showcasing our support.
Why communicate ?
Incorporating communication into your project is one of the pillars of its success. Effective communication strengthens your recognition and makes your actions visible. This communication contributes to promoting your work, demonstrates the project's impacts, and highlights your expertise. It is up to you, being closest to the field, to make your project visible and to inform.
Two levels of communication
Two levels of communication
Level 1 – Ensure minimum visibility of French and AFD support for your projects. These simple obligations apply to all projects that receive financial support from France and AFD.
Level 2 – Commit to enhanced communication, with a communication plan, dedicated financial resources and human resources. This level of communication is considered for innovative projects, on high-impact themes, with partners who wish to communicate extensively about their project.
The Visibility and Communication Guide for projects supported by France and AFD, available in the Communication Kit downloadable below, precisely explains our expectations and your obligations regarding visibility and communication.
The communication level for your project is decided jointly between you and the AFD teams during the project appraisal process. It is specified in the financing agreement that binds you to AFD
