
AFD works to ensure access to quality education for all, especially for girls, from primary school to higher education, and from vocational training to employment. It also finances projects to build and rehabilitate educational facilities.
In 2023, 83% of AFD Group’s commitments across the educational spectrum were made in Africa. The Group’s activities to support primary and secondary education, higher education and research, vocational training, and labor market integration through employment and entrepreneurship aim to improve access, quality, governance and funding in education and vocational training systems.
