Sunref, an AFD Group green finance label, helps economic actors in developing and emerging countries seize the opportunities offered by energy and environmental transitions and encourages local financial institutions to finance them. Sunref Palestine is a customized product that combines AFD credit lines, European Union grants and Technical Assistance. It has been operating in the Palestinian territories since 2018. Following the success of Sunref I (co-financed by AFD and the EU), Proparco, the EU, Bank of Palestine and Cairo Amman Bank launched the second phase of the program in 2022. Sunref II will allow the two banks to continue their expansion in the field of green finance and support their clients in implementing energy efficiency projects.
