Meeting the investments needed to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) — especially in emerging economies — remains a major challenge. One central question emerges:
how can public development banks access financing that is affordable, sustainable, and incentive-driven?

This webinar will present the findings of a new research paper, the result of a collaboration between the French Development Agency (AFD) and the Anthropocene Fixed Income Institute (AFII). This article explores the potential of Sustainability-Linked Bonds to mobilise private finance for the green and just transitions.

At the heart of the discussion: the innovative CORL bonds
These bonds combine performance-based incentives with conditional credit enhancement. In practice, they offer additional financial support by providing a guarantee only if extra-financial performance indicators are achieved.
The idea? Reward performance while crowding in more private investment for impactful development projects by optimizing the use of guarantee.
