As the world stands halfway to the 2030 Agenda, the use of frontier technologies is likely to accelerate the necessary transitions. Raising great expectations, and concern, Artificial Intelligence (AI) has notably experienced significant innovations since the adoption of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Among a wide array of applications, AI can offer efficient solutions to fill data gaps, facilitate organizations’ accountability, or support impact evaluations. However, technological boundaries and institutional limits need to be overcome to ensure a broader and efficient use of AI-based solutions in favor of the SDGs.
By bringing together experts in the fields of Artificial Intelligence and sustainable development, the conference will debate the extent to which AI can foster the implementation of the 2030 Agenda.
Eventually, this event will mark the official launch of the SDG Prospector’s website, an AI-based solution developed by the research team at AFD.
The conference will be held in English. Translation in French will be available in the conference room only.
As the closing event of the Agence Française de Développement “Innovation Week”, a networking cocktail will be offered after the conference.
