French Development Agency (AFD) strengthens its cooperation with Uzbekistan at COP29 with two key agreements on energy and sustainable development.

At COP29 in Baku, the French Development Agency (AFD) signed two major agreements with the Ministry of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan. These agreements include a €100 million financing to support the energy transition and a tripartite agreement with SDSN to implement a Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) monitoring program across Uzbekistan’s regions and major cities. The signing ceremony took place during a bilateral meeting between Ilkhom Norkulov, First Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance of Uzbekistan, Rémy Rioux, CEO of AFD, and Dr. Jeffrey Sachs, President of SDSN.
