Thani MOHAMED-SOILIHI, Secretary of State, visited the headquarters of the Agence Française de Développement (AFD) Group on November 21, where he was welcomed by Rémy Rioux, Chief Executive Officer of AFD Group, Françoise Lombard, Chief Executive Officer of Proparco, and Jérémie Pellet, Chief Executive Officer of Expertise France. A visit to meet the Group's teams and for a working session on the challenges and benefits of France's solidarity and sustainable investment.

The Minister of State, who spoke at the opening of AFD's Board of Directors, was able to meet with several of its members, union representatives and the Group's geographic and thematic directors. The discussions addressed France's political priorities in terms of sustainable investment, as well as the issues of effectiveness, visibility and accountability of AFD's actions. Several projects emblematic of AFD's concrete actions were also presented, for example in the sectors of professional integration in the Maghreb and climate transition in Africa.

The visit was also an opportunity to pay tribute to the work of AFD Group staff in Paris and abroad, whose high level of expertise contributes to France's reputation.

On the sidelines of the 106th Congress of Mayors, the visit ended with an encounter with Mr. Michael DELAFOSSE, Mayor of Montpellier and President of Cités Unies France.
