Researching Inequalities: the Results

AFD Inequality Research Facility
The Research Facility on Inequalities, led by AFD and supported by the European Commission since 2017, is coming to an end. The initiative produced 23 research projects and 150 publications, involving 50 researchers. A final conference outlining the results will take place online 22 to 25 March 2021.

Reconciliation through Social Entrepreneurship in the Western Balkans

The RISE consortium aims to make social engagement of young people a central focus of reconciliation efforts in the Western Balkans. Predominantly funded by the Agence Française de Développement, RISE recently published a study on the current state of social entrepreneurship in these six countries. The study offers guidelines for providing the best possible support to young agents of change in their communities.

Niger: Restoring an Education System Hit Hard by Covid

To slow the spread of the Coronavirus in the spring of 2020, Niger closed its schools. That decision has not been without consequences. The education of many children ground to a halt. Now, swift action is being taken: with support from AFD, UNICEF and the Global Partnership for Education, the authorities have launched a plan to support and restore the education system.
