Civil society organizations (CSOs)

AFD and civil society organizations (CSOs) work together to strengthen civil society’s contribution to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Direct funding support between AFD and CSOs covers an array of instruments to meet the specific needs of CSOs and enhance their added value: innovation support (Sectoral Innovation Facility for NGOs – FISONG; Fund for Innovation in Development – FID), funding for activities in fragile, crisis, and post-crisis contexts (crisis and post-crisis calls for projects – APCC), as well as support for their initiatives through the CSO Initiatives Facility.
AFD Group’s subsidiary Expertise France offers grants to CSOs in the form of specific mechanisms such as L’Initiative (for healthcare) and calls for tenders.
Does your CSO need funding for an international solidarity project or wish to take part in a call for regional or theme-specific projects or a call for tenders issued as part of a project financed by AFD?
