Overview
Since May 2022, Cyrille Bellier has served as Head of the Europe, Middle East and Asia Department at AFD. In this role, he oversees AFD's operations across 34 countries spanning the European neighborhood, the Middle East and Asia, with over 230 staff members across 15 offices worldwide.
Having joined AFD in 2001, he has held a number of senior positions including Project Manager for organizational initiatives, Advisor to the Chief Executive Officer, Deputy Director of AFD’s Tunisia office, Economist seconded to the World Bank in Tunis, Head of the Research and Development division, Deputy Executive Director for Strategy, Partnerships and Communication, Advisor for Asian partnerships, and Deputy Director of Operations.
Prior to his career at AFD, he worked as a senior consultant at Accenture (then Andersen Consulting) in France, the United Kingdom and Australia, specializing in the financial sector.
Cyrille Bellier holds a Master in Applied Economics from Sciences Po Paris and a Master of Science in Development Studies from the London School of Economics.
