Gaëlle Mareuge, an expert in the Cultural and Creative industries (CCIs), implements AFD's 100% Lien social (Social Link) strategy, which positions culture as a key driver of social cohesion.
Overview
Since 2018, the AFD Group has made support for the CCIs a pillar of its strategic framework, given the important role culture plays in achieving the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
In 2021, she joined the Social Link division and its team dedicated to CCIs. She leads key partnership initiatives, including the Accès culture and Afrique créative programs, which were strengthened at the New Africa-France Summit in October 2021. She is also responsible for integrating these industries across AFD operations to amplify the social impact of funded projects.
After studying international relations and law at Sciences Po Aix, she completed specialized training in cultural policy and art history. Her 15 years of professional experience as a project lawyer (with Bouygues Construction, regional authorities, RATP, and AFD) have enabled her to contribute to several heritage projects in France and internationally.
As a volunteer, she contributes to organizing a film festival focused on environmental issues.
