Armenia: Innovating for more resilient agriculture

In Armenia, agriculture plays a vital role in rural livelihoods and food security, particularly in the Ararat Valley. To address challenges related to water management, the modernization of practices, and market access, Agence Française de Développement (AFD), with the support of the European Union, works alongside the Armenian Government to implement the IADAAM program.

At the heart of this initiative, the agricultural advisory service AEST supports farmers through hands-on technical assistance, the promotion of innovative practices, and the strengthening of local capacities. The goal is to foster farms that are more productive, more resilient to climate-related pressures, and better integrated into their economic environment, for the benefit of rural communities as a whole.
