The essential role of education for citizenship and international solidarity - Executive summary

Global Citizenship Education (GCE) is key to promote civic engagement for a fairer, sustainable and inclusive future. A joint report was released in February 2021 by the French multi-stakeholder advisory group on GCE, detailing the reasons why GCE should be a priority for public policies and play a key role in initiatives led by organizations. The executive summary of this report is available in English here, and in its full version (French only) here.

The French Multi-Stakeholder Advisory Group on GCE was created in 2017 as a forum for sharing ideas and experiences. It gathers representatives from French institutions and associations, four ministries, Agence Française de Développement, local authorities and multi-stakeholder regional networks. These organizations reflect various approaches, initiatives and audiences.

Most of all, they share a common purpose: promoting individual and collective contribution to a fairer, more inclusive, and sustainable world through Education and GCE.
