This year's edition is co-hosted by the Inter-American Development Bank, Bancoldex, and the Latin American Association of Development Financing Institutions (ALIDE).
AFD Group, co-founder of the FiCS General Secretariat and the host of the first Edition of the Finance in Common Summit, is a major partner of this new edition.
The Summit will provide an opportunity to highlight the key role of Public Development Banks (PDBs) in supporting the transformation of economies and financial systems to steer them towards sustainability. It is crucial to mainstream green and just transition principles in all financial actors’ investments and operations in order to build back greener and fairer.
There will be four main themes:
- SMEs and financial inclusion
- Climate and biodiversity
- Sustainable infrastructure
- PDBs' institutional agenda
The Summit will also feature four major issues that concern Latin America and the Caribbean in particular:
- Assessing social and developmental impact
- Private capital mobilization towards SDG goals
- Collaboration with civil society
- Incorporation of human rights in strategies and programs.
METIS Fund:
The topic “Culture, Arts and Development” is an inspiring theme of growing interest for development finance actors and their partners. Under the impetus of AFD and its Metis - Arts and Development Fund, this theme will be discussed for the first time within the FICS. A High-level Panel will be organized there for FICS members, development actors and policy-makers to demonstrate the transversal and strategic contribution of arts and culture to the achievement of the SDGs.
A joint declaration of interest will be the subject of a call for signature to the members of the FICS and the partners present. A thematic coalition Culture Arts and Development could result and give itself a roadmap for the years to come
