Agence Française de développement - Global capital bond award - Best Agency Funding Team
AFD has been awarded the “Best agency funding team” in the annual GlobalCapital Bond Awards ceremony in the Supras, Sovereigns and Agencies (SSA) category.

This award shows recognition from our peers as a well-established issuer. To support the growth of its financing to developing countries, AFD’s funding program has increased from EUR 4.5bn in 2015 to EUR 8bn in 2023. Last year AFD printed three benchmarks in EUR, two in USD and one in GBP, with maturies across the curve from two to fifteen years.

AFD has also been the first French public issuer of a green bond in 2014. Since 2020 AFD has set up a sustainable bond framework, dedicated to financing UN Sustainable Development Goals. SDG bonds amounted 43% of AFD’s funding program in 2023.

Bokar Chérif, CFO, AFD: “We, at AFD, are very delighted with this award from the industry. It means a lot of work from the teams over the years, in order to build a strong and reliable signature on capital markets, expected by investors. Beyond markets, it is the opportunity to maintain our commitments and the purpose of this funding program in order to finance sustainable development projects.”

The winners of the Global Capital Bond Awards are designated by votes from across the industry (leading banks, issuers, investors…).
