Agence Française de Développement (AFD) is a partner of the 16th Biennial Conference of the European Evaluation Society (EES), which will take place in Lille from October 26 to 30, 2026.
A flagship event for evaluation professionals in Europe and worldwide, the EES 2026 conference will bring together researchers, public institutions, donors, international organizations, consultants and practitioners to discuss the major contemporary challenges facing evaluation.
The theme of this 2026 edition is:
“Evaluation for Vibrant Democracies”
Over five days, participants will take part in professional development workshops, thematic sessions, international panels, methodological exchanges and presentations of innovative work. Discussions will focus in particular on:
- Evaluating climate policies and transitions ;
- Feminist, decolonial and rights-based approaches ;
- Artificial intelligence and its responsible use ;
- The links between evaluation, democratic governance and collective learning ;
- Evaluation in complex and uncertain contexts ;
- Systemic and participatory approaches.
AFD at EES 2026
AFD teams will contribute to several sessions and presentations on public policy, climate transitions, development finance and systemic evaluation.
