In a world of limited planetary resources, the concentration of wealth is leading to growing division.
Inequalities significantly hinder sustainable development. Since many different forms of inequality exist, It is necessary, with the support of research, to improve knowledge on the foundations and mechanisms generating inequalities and thus deploy a wide range of actions and solutions adapted to effectively reduce them.
Health, education, employment, income, environment... AFD is working on every issue and at every level to promote more just and fair development. Inequalities are not inevitable, however, and reducing them is a matter of survival for society.
