AIIPI 2026: AI Investment for All – A Multidimensional Path to Inclusive and Sustainable Growth - A strategic tool to strengthen countries’ AI potential

Published on

The AIIPI is an index that measures the investment potential of 193 countries in responsible and inclusive artificial intelligence. It is based on the aggregation of 18 indicators grouped into six categories, including research, human capital, governance, the economic environment, and digital infrastructure. By assessing countries’ attractiveness for AI investment, it enables policymakers to prioritize AI-related investment policies.
The results highlight significant regional disparities and strong geographic concentration: while some regions have reached an advanced stage, more than 80% of countries remain at intermediate levels, highlighting the need for targeted interventions to strengthen their potential. The index also identifies key drivers of AI investment, including research, government effectiveness, and data protection. This article presents the main findings of the third edition of the AIIPI (2026) and provides targeted recommendations to help countries strengthen their potential for investment in AI.
