Revitalizing Public Decision-Support Institutions in Tunisia

Published on

Public analysis and decision-support structures play an essential role in guiding public policy decisions. While Tunisia has relatively strong institutions and expertise, it is clear that the system has gradually weakened and some tasks are less well fulfilled than before. This Policy Brief is based on a study of the institutional organization of public economic decision-support structures in Tunisia, conducted in 2024 at the request of the Ministry of Economy and Planning. Three complementary areas for improvement are proposed: strengthening institutional coordination with high-level leadership; promoting a culture of quality, particularly through the evaluation of work; and facilitating exchanges with the academic sphere and other knowledge-producing actors.
