
In 2022, the number of international migrants reached more than 280 million, representing 3.6% of the world’s population. There are many types and factors of mobility (economic, social, political, cultural, climatic, environmental), which are closely connected with each other.
AFD helps a wide range of actors (such as national and local authorities, regional organizations, the private sector and civil society) reduce the vulnerabilities linked to forced migration, in an effort to make migration a driver of development for the countries of departure, transit and destination.
