AFD-CIRAD Joint Position Paper

Faced with the worsening triple burden of malnutrition—undernutrition, micronutrient deficiencies, and obesity—particularly in developing countries, it is becoming urgent to fundamentally rethink food systems. This joint AFD and CIRAD brief is part of this dynamic, affirming the need to fully integrate nutrition issues into agricultural, food, and development policies. It aims to guide future actions by highlighting the transformative potential of food systems to improve health, strengthen regional resilience, and support sustainable, equitable, and inclusive development.
